​Rob Thomas is an attorney who specializes in employment counseling and transactions.  For his executive clients, Rob negotiates and advises on employment agreements, executive compensation, stock options and other equity arrangements, and severance agreements.  For his employer clients, Rob provides general employment counseling and advises on the resolution of pre-litigation disputes.

Rob joined the firm as Of Counsel in 2025.  Prior to joining the firm, Rob practiced at Shuman Snyder LLP (2023-2025), Doty Barlow Britt & Thieman LLP (2000-2023), and Morrison & Foerster LLP (1995-1999).  Rob received his J.D. degree, Magna Cum Laude, in 1993 from University of California Law San Francisco (formerly Hastings College of the Law).  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Creative Writing) in 1984 from University of California, Los Angeles. In 1992, Rob was a judicial extern for Justice Armand Arabian of the California Supreme Court. Prior to attending law school, Rob served as an Officer in the United States Navy, where he was an engineering officer aboard a submarine.

Rob has been an active member of the legal and local community. He has chaired both the Labor & Employment Executive Committee and the Education Committee of the Santa Clara County Bar Association. He has also served on the Coyote Point Museum's Board of Trustees and the Town of Woodside's Recreation Committee. Rob is also an adjunct professor at Menlo College where he teaches a course on employment law.
